When it comes to marketing your business think local and little. Search for opportunities to get in front of your customers with your marketing message. Scan your social media event pages. Check local radio station websites for community calendars. What’s going on in your community? How can your business become more visible in a venue?

Have you thought about sponsoring an event? Have you thought about sponsoring an event for a local non-profit? Get to know your community and you will locate your ideal customer / client. Survey and study how and where your community spends time and money.

“Make Your Message Move”

You should be marketing all the time — wherever you are. Therefore, you need a message you can move in a minute.

Research shows the average attention span of an adult is about six to eight seconds. That’s all the time you have to grab someone’s attention.

If you successfully engage them, you only have a little over a minute to really sell them on your product or service.

Invest the time to consolidate and modulate your opening line and sales pitch. The return on your investment will pay huge dividends in terms of creating more business opportunities.

The Seven Last Words of Christ on The Cross reveal the mastery of crisis management. 

There is no greater crisis than The Crucifixion of Jesus.

Jesus conquered his crisis.

In Chinese lore the two characters that combine to make the word ‘crisis’ are danger and opportunity.

Every crisis offers an opportunity. 

How did Jesus lead the world through it’s most crucial crisis? 

What are the principles and practices being taught to leaders?

THE FIRST WORD – 

“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” 

Luke 23:34

Handle the hard stuff first. What’s more difficult than to forgive the unforgivable?  The hardest work of a leader is to rescue and restore people.

THE SECOND WORD – 

  “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.” 

Luke 23:43

Promote potential when things are painful. The penitent thief is dying on a Roman cross and Jesus is talking to him about paradise. Talk to your team about the dream not the death!

THE THIRD WORD – 

“Jesus said to his mother: “Woman, this is your son.” Then he said to the disciple: “This is your mother.” 

John 19:26-27

Redefine significant roles and responsibilities. Every crisis tests the best team relationships. A crisis gives you permission to rethink how the team should team together going forward.

THE FOURTH WORD –

“My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” 

Matthew 27:46 and Mark 15:34

Ask questions that get to the heart of the matter. Why? That is the question of champions. 

THE FIFTH WORD – 

“I thirst.” John 19:28

Communicate your most basic needs as a leader. Don’t be afraid to be transparent. Keep your messages simple.

THE SIXTH WORD – 

When Jesus had received the wine, he said, “It is finished;” and he bowed his head and handed over the spirit.  John 19:30

Know when to “shut it down”.  Closure is a treasure. Your project needs a start and finish date. The longest recorded Roman crucifixion lasted 10 days. Jesus finished in six hours. How do you know when you’ve won?

THE SEVENTH WORD – 

Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.” 

Luke 23:46

Delegate what you are currently doing so you can lead more to the next level. Jesus turned his spirit over to Father. This was His way of ensuring His Resurrection. After The Resurrection He leads captivity captive and gives us gifts of the Spirit ( Ephesians 4:7-9).
