Here are seven principles and practices that can shape your day. Psalm 5 is a guide for “Doing Your Daily”. Your destiny is in your daily! Don’t just seize the day; set your day!
1{To the chief Musician upon Nehiloth, A Psalm of David.} Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation.
- MEDITATION – Bring your faith into focus by meditating on a specific Scripture. Repeat and rehearse a Scripture throughout the day.
2Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.
3My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
2. SUPPLICATION – Pray and announce to God your full dependence upon Him for your success in the day. Expect great things from God every day.
4For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.
3. SANCTIFICATION – Remind yourself that today God wants to take pleasure in your lifestyle. You may have weak days, but you don’t have to have any wicked ones.
5The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
6Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.
4. PROTECTION – Believe and declare that those who don’t wish you to succeed will fail. The LORD is not blessing those who are trying to hurt you.
7But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.
5. DETERMINATION – Make sure that you take a stand on the spiritual matters that are most important to your life. Don’t compromise on spending time with God in prayer, worship and the reading of the Word.
8Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.
9For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.
10Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee.
6. CONVERSATION – Watch your words and only keep company with those who are talking positive about your faith and your future. Don’t let loose lips and corrupt conversations interrupt your day.
11But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
12For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
7. EXPECTATION – Head out into the day with joy and the expectation that you will experience the manifest favor of God in every situation you face. Know that by faith you are right with God and that God wants to bless your day more than you want your day blessed!
